Hello everyone! ♡ It’s been a while since I have written a blog post and writing this feels a little strange, the past few months have been incredibly hectic and finding time to write for my blog has been impossible. In this blog post, I am going to let you in on a few secrets and share my London journey with you so far.

Since May 2018, I haven’t been as active on my social media channels and I didn’t ever explain why. I want to apologise to my followers for my absence and I hope that this blog post explains why I haven’t been around.

A lot of people have contacted me and asked about my blog and I want to thank you for reaching out and asking about my content. This makes me feel incredibly valued in this ‘blogging’ space and I truly appreciate your kindness during this time. For the people who rely on my blog posts and feel frustrated by my ‘none existence,’ I want to apologise deeply. ‘Life’ has got in the way the past few months and it has stopped me from writing. My blog has always been my escape and I love sharing my journey with you all. I have felt lost without my blog but I am so happy to be back.

Since being in London, I have had time to experience lots of different things: a new job, the London city life, being back on the dating scene, learning to cope without family, being pressured in a job and much much more. Since May, things have been incredibly challenging for various reasons and you know what, I wouldn’t change it for the world. Everything we experience offers a different learning opportunity. I have loved it!

“Travelling is worth more than money will ever be”.

In May of this year, I applied for an incredible job in the heart of London, not too far from Buckingham Palace (photographed above). This job was everything I could have imagined. It really did tick the boxes and it allowed me to move my whole life to London in a matter of days.

May and June was a complete blur for me! As soon as I got my new London job, my life changed forever. In fact, it was a dream come true. I packed my belongings in Blackpool and moved straight to London. I didn’t have much time to say goodbyes or to even pack things properly, I just had to think on the spot and not procrastinate. I am thankful that this transition in my life happened this year, I was totally ready for a change and I needed to be pushed out of my comfort zone. Sometimes, we can become very ‘comfortable’ and that isn’t always the best when you want to continue learning and exploring.

You may be wondering what my job actually was? I was a content writer and Community Host for a business and financial software company – again, completely out of my comfort zone. This job stood out to me because of the location, the benefits and the opportunity it gave me to learn new skills. My life in London was a huge whirlwind of emotions. Lots of tears were shed but I had lots of fun times too. I have worked with some of the most inspirational people over the past 7 months and I have worked for one of the greatest brands in the tech space. It was a pleasure to be apart of their team. However, in October I decided to take the leap and leave this job behind me. I am now ready for something new.

London taught me how to be independent, strong-willed and determined. Although I was all of these things before I went to London, they have become even stronger over time. Now I have experienced the city life, I now know where I want to be. London has been incredibly kind to me and this location has always had a little place in my heart. I want to thank London for welcoming me and having me there. I have worked hard, stayed motivated and I haven’t given up. London is all types of challenging but it’s also a wonderful city and has some of the most delicious food! I will always gravitate back to London no matter where I am in the world – it holds a deep meaning to me.

I have loved the city life but I have also loved the moments of stillness when I have visited home near the seaside. Since being in London, I have realised the importance of downtime and relaxation. I have worked tirelessly for the past 7 months and I haven’t had time off. I have become overworked and exhausted. I should have noticed the warning signs but in London, it’s almost impossible to slow down. Life is incredibly fast-paced there. The city is tough, it’s challenging and it will certainly harden and strengthen you. So don’t go there and expect things to be easy. In London, everyone is striving to survive.

I am currently in the North having some downtime and then I will then head back to London and continue my crazy adventure in a week. I also have some exciting travel plans for next year….. Keep your eyes peeled! I may need your guidance soon.

“A bad day in London is still better than a good day anywhere else”.

As I have experienced briefly, when you go through life you experience lots of ‘change’ and it’s always for the right reasons. The universe or whoever is in control doesn’t take something away from us without replacing it with something even better. Sometimes, we hope and pray that things will change and we lose faith in the process of progression. If you’re in a moment of despair and you want to change your current situation, take the leap and don’t worry. I know it’s easier said than done but every leap I have taken out of my comfort zone has been the best decision.

Also, since being in London, my fitness and healthy eating have taken a back seat and I have prioritised work. Although this has made me feel motivated in the workplace, this has also had a huge impact on my mental health and my overall wellbeing. I am excited to get back to my fitness routine.

Amazing news – I am now back to blogging and I am really excited to see what happens over the next few months – it’s been a long time coming. The countdown for next year begins (huge things are coming)… Watch this space.

My thankyou’s

Thank you London for having me, I have loved every second. Thank you to everyone I worked with – you have all helped me so much. Thank you to my friends and family who have supported me and a huge thank you to my followers for standing by me – you’re the reason I do this.

This is just the beginning…
