Ca Na Xica Hotel Ibiza – Review

Happy Thursday everyone! It’s a little gloomy here in Blackpool so I wanted to inject some sunshine into my blog and inspire your next holiday destination. As an avid explorer and traveller, I am always on the hunt for exploring new destinations. I am always wanting to submerge myself in new cultures and I am always wanting to eat new foods.

In October, I jetted off to Ibiza and explored the serenity of the Can Na Xica, Sant Miquel de Balansat, Ibiza 5* Spa hotel. I was kindly sent here by the wonderful Renew Life team to delve deep into the importance of gut health and explore the overall benefits of the Renew Life supplements. When I was approached for this PR trip, I did squeal a little inside and excitement filled my bones before I began to do my research on Ibiza.

I have visited Spain before, however, I have never explored Ibiza before. Ibiza is, of course, famed for being the party capital of the world. However, I stayed in a serene spa hotel which was situated in the North of Ibiza.

Once I arrived in Ibiza I was filled with an amazing sense of gratitude and I couldn’t believe the location. I have explored rural areas of the globe before, but Ibiza definitely offers something unique. Ibiza (Catalan: Eivissa) is an island in the gorgeous Mediterranean Sea off the East Coast of Spain and it is 93 miles away from the magnificent and picturesque city of Valencia (another place I definitely want to visit soon!).

Of course, Ibiza is known for it’s vibrant and lively nightlife in the Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni, where major European nightclubs have summer events. However, what I did realise is that Ibiza is also home to quiet villages, hidden walkways, yoga retreats and beautiful beaches. As well as stunning hotels, bars, and the most delicious food.

As we drove up to the Ca Na Xica Hotel I was overwhelmed by its natural beauty surrounded by the sun-infused Ibizan countryside. The secluded retreat Ca Na Xica has an idyllic setting: orchards and olive groves shelter the terracotta-clay grounds and inject the poolside with colour, vibrancy and freshness. The overwhelming but angelic cacti surround the dazzling saltwater pool, the cacti bear beautiful red fruits late in the season and offer a glow of colour against the surroundings.

As we entered the hotel we were all greeted with champagne and our bags were escorted to our rooms. Whilst we mingled, sipped champagne and took in the views, I knew the next few days were going to be busy but totally relaxed. The service I experienced at this hotel was truly wonderful. Nothing was ever too much for the staff and they always cheered me up. They greeted me, they surprised me with complimentary homemade cookies in the evening and they always went a step further to ensure my stay was memorable and relaxed.

The main areas of the luxury boutique hotel are navigable via wide paths set in the natural red gravel which is native to the island. The colour scheme of this serene hotel ties perfectly well together, making it feel more like a private resort hidden away. Let’s not forget that the open-air restaurant looks out over swaying fields of barley and makes any picture look effortless (are you persuaded to go yet?).

The grounds are beautiful but this continues indoors. All of the 20 rooms feel airy, luxurious and tastefully contemporary. Ca Na Xica boasts six double and superior rooms in the main building – a typical Ibiza Finca – in addition to a row of 14, recently built premium suites.

Large terraces overlook the countryside and the sweeping fields of grass, this is the most wonderful thing to wake up to when you’re away relaxing and unwinding. Inside each room, lanterns and sophisticated lighting cast warmth on the crisp white walls and soft furnishings. Each room has a muted colour palette with minimalist furniture, which leaves the interior feeling chic, relaxing and fresh.

Let’s not forget the glass-fronted shower with the most beautiful waterfall head attachment. My shower overlooked a stunning groomed garden of stones, bamboo and ferns – opening the side door allowed you to experience nature whilst showering! The concept is wonderful and feels like your bathing in your own private rainforest.

Each room is fully equipped with the most delicious minibar, plush beds, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, fine linen, tranquil rural views, LED lighting, robes and slippers, Campos de Ibiza bath products, hairdryer, iPod docking stations and Bluetooth soundbars (& much more!!!).

As if Ca Na Xica couldn’t get any more relaxing or luxurious they even have their own in-house contemporary spa which is exclusive to guests. I experienced a relaxing massage and it was absolutely wonderful. I left feeling relaxed, re-energised and in a state of pure bliss.

The spa also offers an extensive range of massages and beauty treatments using products made from natural Ibiza ingredients. The spa also features a sauna, hammam, ice basin, sensation shower, plunge pool and jacuzzi.

The more I explored the Ca Na Xica grounds, the more I discovered. The hidden walkways lead you to the more picturesque places. Start your day with some morning stretching on their very own petite man-made beach which is also lined with sun loungers, beanbags and parasols. Not only is this the perfect spot for morning yoga, this is the ideal spot for sunbathing and cocktail drinking.

Dining at Salvia was a whole new foodie experience. I am a huge foodie, so experiencing food on this level of excellence was rather impressive and now I have returned to the UK I am more inspired than ever to re-create some of these dishes at home.

Salvia is a fine dining restaurant that serves authentic Mediterranean food with an international infusion. At Salvia, the most important goal is to offer the best quality, with the freshest products and the best service. They bring the authentic Mediterranean experience in every dish and their dishes are absolutely delicious; carefully chosen, executed beautifully and each dish certainly tells a story of Ibiza.

Natural wood, stone and beige accents decorate this contemporary dining spot. The surfaces are gleaming white, light floods in through the ceiling beams and a full wall of windows overlook the surrounding fields. The restaurant is a very short walk from the hotel which makes it the perfect relaxed location for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

You can tell that the chefs have a true passion for locally sourced fresh ingredients. Each dish was colourful, a flavour explosion and 100% creative. Nothing is too much for the staff at Salvia if you have a certain dietary requirement they are more than happy to cater to your needs and rustle you up something delicious. Just because you have a different dietary need to what’s on the menu, it doesn’t mean you’ll lack cooking excellence.

Every morning I was greeted with a generous buffet of cheeses, Spanish ham, home-made bread, cakes, fruit, fresh juices and a variety of organic cereals and nuts. Oh! They also make the most amazing eggs and bacon, they also offer made-to-order omelettes, poached eggs, scrambled eggs and much more.

The pouched eggs are a must try if you’re a breakfast lover. Honestly, you won’t be stuck for choice here. They have a little something for everyone. Vibrant in colour, texture and comfort. You won’t want to leave breakfast!

Ok, are you prepared to see more foodie deliciousness? I haven’t experienced salads so delicious. Vegetables were cooked in many ways but every vegetable offered something unique – vegetables definitely don’t have to be boring! Honestly, I couldn’t complain about one thing. I was so overwhelmed by the food here.

Rating: 10/10.

I hope you loved this blog post and I hope it has inspired your next holiday destination. I absolutely loved staying at the Ca Na Xica Hotel and I really hope I can visit again in the future.

Sadly, on this trip, I didn’t get to be a true tourist in Ibiza but my holiday was absolutely amazing despite this. A full blog post will be coming soon where I talk about my collaboration with UK Renew Life and more about my experience learning about the importance of gut health.

I want to thank the amazing team at Fluorescent PR for making all of this possible and I would also like to thank the team at Ca Na Xica and Salvia for making my holiday so magical. Honestly, I have returned to the UK feeling amazing and I am so grateful for this experience. I hope I can return to Ibiza soon and explore the many hidden treasures it has to offer!

I experienced the most amazing food, I slept extremely well and I admired the Ibizan countryside in true style. Honestly, it was a dream. Thank you!

Where should I go next?
