Hey everyone & happy July! We have got through another month of 2020; you should be proud. Phew, it’s been exhausting, hasn’t it? It’s been challenging, anxiety-inducing and it’s brought us closer to the things that bring us joy.

Lockdown has changed me for the better and it has made me re-shape my thinking towards a lot of things. My training is one of them. I adore moving my body and my fitness lifestyle is a huge part of who I am. My training has changed my life, it’s strengthened my mind and it’s saved my life.

When I discovered fitness 6+ years ago, my life changed forever. My focus aligned, my energy and excitement for life propelled and my ambition went through the roof. Looking after my body physically and mentally has helped me beyond words and now I would not look back.

Today, I am going to share a little insight into my training and I am also going to be sharing my new FAVE jogger and top combo. An outfit that has everything in mind; resting, training, relaxing… But mainly inspired by the heritage of sportswear.

My relationship with moving my body has changed a lot over the years but now my focus is on how movement makes me ‘feel’. Moving my body makes me feel alive, it helps my energy levels and it increases my concentration. It makes me feel badass and moving my body over the years has been a huge outlet for me.

I weight train 3-5 times a week depending on my schedule and I follow a workout split such as shoulders & chest, arms & abs, back and biceps and lower. It isn’t complicated, it’s fun and I move my body in a way I enjoy. Some days I follow a plan and some days I don’t. Moving my body isn’t restrictive… It is maintainable for longevity and it helps me feel strong mentally and physically.

A huge part of my motivation comes down to the outfit I am wearing. If I have a new outfit to wear or I feel confident in my workout gear, I am going to feel excited to move! Whether that’s a gym workout, chilled yoga flow or a walk along my local promenade… A new comfortable outfit is a game-changer.

Comfort and performance blended together…

Which leads me to the beautiful outfit I am wearing in today’s post. An outfit that gave me the boost I needed a few weeks ago when I felt a little unmotivated and sluggish.

Here I am wearing the MP Women’s Raw Training joggers and the MP Raw Training Cropped T-Shirt in the colour Ink. Blue makes me feel fresh, it adds a pop of colour in a subtle way and without me giving you a hint to why I love it… It matches my eye colour!

I was kindly gifted this outfit to test out with my lifestyle. Recently I have been enjoying my rest days and walking more. This outfit is perfect for just that! It’s chilled, relaxed and still looks smart.

When MP contacted me about their Raw Training range, I was so excited to hear more! Inspired by the heritage of sportswear but brought to life with a modern edge. It’s damn awesome. I love having my joggers high waisted; they’re flattering on my figure and make me feel supported. I love the texture of the crop top and I feel confident showing a little skin in a feminine way. MP have ticked the boxes with this!

Although the items have a vintage washed-out look, they are comfortable and have your performance at the front of their vision. Not to forget, these items are 100% cotton so are cooling (no unnecessary sweating!) & cause no irritation on the skin.

These are my new faves. I will wear these joggers during my relaxed days and I will definitely be pairing my cropped t-shirt with jeans, leggings or of course these super comfy joggers. Mix and match, change things up and choose what suits you.

This cropped top goes so well with jeans as well as yoga leggings! A great throw on in between sessions or for an added layer after training. Roll on post-lockdown gym sessions!

I Have The Outfit… Now What?

When I lose my motivation… I take a step back from my routine and see where I might be going wrong. Maybe I need more rest, maybe I need to switch things up, maybe I need a new gym outfit ;), maybe I need to regain my focus towards how fitness makes me ‘feel’ and step away from the aesthetic goals of fitness…

As soon as I confront my motivation, things change and I move forward in my journey.

It is ok to feel tired and unmotivated but don’t unpack your bags and stay there. Learn to rest and not to quit. Treat yourself, be your biggest cheerleader and remember who the hell you are before the world told you to be something different.

When you doubt your ability or feel low on motivation, please stand-up to those demons and battle them down. Be kind to yourself but also remember that it takes the whole of YOU to achieve your goals. I can provide you with tips on how to stay motivated… But it all comes down to your mind and how bad you want it inside.
