A Weekend in Liverpool

A weekend in Liverpool

& PAUSE…..

*gifted stay by Hilton Liverpool Hotel and Chaophraya: Thai restaurant, Thai food, fine dining

Just when things were getting too much, I decided to pack my bags and get away for a few days. When I choose somewhere to get away to, I try and choose somewhere that’s different from my usual surroundings. I am currently based in Blackpool beside the sea – away from the pollution & the city craziness!

When the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool contacted me, I couldn’t say no! This getaway came at the perfect time! Due to the circumstances of my job and the industry I work in, it’s sometimes hard to take long periods off without pre-planning my work. So this was perfect! I could work on-the-go and then allow myself to switch off for one evening to enjoy food, my boyfriend’s company and the city craziness of Liverpool.

This was mine and my boyfriend’s first time away together so it was super exciting!

Hilton Liverpool

For one night, I stayed at the Hilton Liverpool in one of their Executive Suites. It was the ultimate luxury, relaxation, and it was the perfect place to relax after a day of shopping and eating a lot of food! Situated in the centre of the Liverpool ONE retail and leisure complex, the location of the hotel provides easy access to the main transport links, carparks and main attractions.
On this occasion, we didn’t visit any local attractions but the receptionists at the hotel were on-hand in case we needed some advice and guidance regarding things to do and see.

From gorgeous contemporary rooms to numerous meeting rooms and event spaces, this hotel does tick the boxes! If you’re wanting to go away for business or treat yourself to a night away with your partner, guests can get the most out of their experience and truly take advantage of the Hilton Hotel luxuries. Not forgetting, if you’re wanting to stay on track with your fitness goals, they have a fully kitted out gym and their food options are brilliant! They cater to everyone. Whether you’re vegan, veggie, gluten-free… You certainly don’t miss out!

After a glorious nights sleep, we got showered and headed down to breakfast… WHAT A TREAT! If you’re a foodie breakfast lover, Hilton Hotels do the best spread when it comes to breakfast. From freshly made smoothies to an English breakfast spread. Whether you have a sweet or savoury appetite, they have something for everyone! I am a lover of eggs, veggies, and fruit in the morning so I was super pleased to be greeted with my favourites! In fact… I may have gone back for 2nds 😉

Hilton Liverpool Review

I can’t thank Hilton Hotels enough for their hospitality and kindness, it was a wonderful stay and I can confirm, myself and my boyfriend will be back very soon. The countdown is ON for our next date night getaway!

I would highly recommend that you check out their Hilton Liverpool Hotel Deals here. It might be worthwhile seeing what offers they have before booking your dreamy stay! Also, upon arrival to your room, you can ask for added extras: champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries… The lot. So, if you want to treat your partner and make things extra special, I think this would be a lovely surprise!

The evening we stayed at the Hilton Liverpool, we also wanted to enjoy some Thai food in Liverpool One. Being huge foodies and loving pretty much everything… 😉 When we were invited to try out the Chaophraya: fine dining restaurant at Liverpool One, we were pretty ecstatic! …

I hope you’re not too hungry reading this… Because you’ll be starving when you begin to scroll through these images! You’ve been warned!

Chaophraya: Thai restaurant, Thai food, fine dining

Think Thai food, luxury surroundings and relaxation. Yes, Chaophraya really take Thai food to a whole new level! Bursting with colour and flavour, they certainly know how to transport you to Thailand without the long haul flight. When you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by a large oriental buddha that emits positive vibes immediately! Not forgetting their large fish tanks that decorate the restaurants ceiling and walls. Orchids and various exotic fresh flowers decorate the tables with the accompaniment of the dark wood furnishings. I was blown away by their interior details; colourful, inviting and authentic.

You can find Chaophraya on Chavasse Park in Liverpool One. Whether you’re choosing to dine for business, lunch or dinner; this restaurant will take you to Thailand through their dishes. Their culinary team work extremely hard to combine classic Thai flavours with their own Chaophraya signature twists. OH! I mustn’t forget, they have a fantastic range of cocktails, wines and beers too.

Have a party coming up? Want to invite your friends out for dinner? They have a beautiful private dining room! Glass walls, sunken seating tables, exotic flowers, stunning furnishings and the privacy to enjoy your own dinner party. So perfect!

Duck tamarind, egg fried rice, dumplings… The ultimate feast in luxury surroundings.

I love experimenting with my food but I also love trying new dishes I wouldn’t usually opt for! Dining at Chaophraya is the perfect opportunity for you to be different and choose something out of your comfort zone. Whether you opt for your usual or you want to try something different like their dumpling platter or their large duck tamarind, you won’t be disappointed. I must add, if you have any dietary requirements, they’re keen to cater to you! So don’t worry, everyone is made to feel welcome.

On this visit to Chaophraya, we decided to choose a selection of dishes and share them between us (we simply couldn’t choose which dishes we wanted to try! There were too many!).

The dishes I chose:

An age-old Chinese import! Dumplings are a real street food favourite in Yaowarat, Thailand. A selection of pork, prawn and beef dumplings steamed and served with fried garlic and sweet soy sauce. Dumplings are a firm favourite of mine! Soooo, I had to try theirs! Comforting, juicy and packed full of flavour. Each dumpling was a flavour explosion.

Crispy belly pork stir-fried with onions, garlic, red and green peppers, served with salt and pepper. Crunchy, succulent and so delicious as a side dish!

Their classic red curry made from dried red chillies blended with coconut milk, bamboo shoots and basil. Not spicy but aromatic in flavour. Creamy, juicy and perfect accompanied with egg fried rice.

Wow, this dish was colourful and was my favourite from our selection! The presentation of this dish was rather impressive too. Roast duck in palm sugar and tamarind sauce topped with fried shallots, cashews and dried chillies. Served with seasonal vegetables. Delicious accompanied with rice. The vegetables were fresh and the duck was flavoursome and packed full of goodness.

Seafood is always going to be one of my favourites! But their prawns were huge, no skimping on the prawns here! Served in a light red curry batter with a side of sweet chilli sauce – need I say more? How dreamy…

Whether you choose to dine there for lunch, enjoy their set menu or share dishes with your favourite people; I cannot speak highly enough of the Chaophraya team and their customer service. Nothing was ever too much for them and their enthusiasm and passion for their food radiates. I am hoping to take my parents here very soon!

Thank you, Chaophraya for taking me back and allowing me to experience some of my favourite memories through food. I am very grateful. I love this place so much!

If Liverpool is too far for you to visit, they have 8 venues across the UK! Check out their website for more information and locate your closest Chaophraya.

A huge thank you goes out to companies who have collaborated with me on this post. All of my opinions are my own and are 100% honest. I am forever grateful. x

All my love, Jess x
