OH MY GOSH! EXCITING NEWS! I just discovered I am shortlisted for the Health Bloggers Community awards 2019 #hba19 for Best Mental Health Awareness Blog 🤩. The excitement fills my bones and I am forever grateful to have even been considered for this award.
When I started my blog, I didn’t think it would be a place of sanctuary for anyone else. My blog has always been my little space on the internet where I can share and document my life but it’s also my place to express my journey through mental health and physical health.
When I realised I was nominated for this award, it made me reflect on the past 7 years of blog writing and my heart started to fill with deep gratitude. My blog has evolved a lot over time but the main purpose has always remained strong: to create a place on the internet people can gravitate towards when they feel lost and need a pick-me-up. I provide realness and daily positivity.
My blog has provided a lot of support for me over the years and it’s taken me to some incredible places. Despite this, I have always stayed humble and driven to my wider purpose and I have never let my goals and ambitions slip beside the sideline. At the end of the day, my followers mean everything to me. Whether you’re new, you’ve followed me for a while or you’re a casual browser, I honour and thank you. My blog is for anyone. Male. Female. Teenager. Adult. All ethnicities. All sizes. Gay. Straight. Transgender. You name it, you’re welcome here if you want to seek positivity. This is your space now… As well as mine. I welcome you into my online life and I want to remind you that you’re not alone. We’re in this together.
Through my own struggles with mental health and physical health, I believe that if I won this award it would help me spread my message as an individual. I want to help people feel inspired, energised and positive. I want to make people realise that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Even in the darkest of moments.
My blog is very personal to me and it’s my little treasure, I hold it close to my heart and it was curated from the darker moments in my life – them moments, I am very grateful for. Without experiencing depression, anxiety, loneliness, bullying and much more I wouldn’t be able to help people and going through them moments has built a passion of mine = to inspire others and prove to others that dark places are imagined, they’re not real and they don’t last forever.
I fill with happiness when other people engage and read my content, that is why I love being a health blogger. My blog represents my journey through life and my growth as an individual. I write because I want to inspire people and I want to pollute the internet with positivity. I want to make people feel good and I want to show you, that you’re awesome.
Health is more than eating vegetables and working out. It’s in the mind, it’s in your soul and it’s in Y. O. U.
‘Health’ looks different on everyone.
I want to spread the message that you have one body. You must appreciate it, look after it and enjoy it at every stage of your life. Whether you’re a teenager, you’re an adult, you’re post-op, post-pregnancy or losing weight… You must appreciate your body during every stage of your life. At the end of the day, your body is supporting you through everything and is helping you achieve your greatest – don’t take it for granted.
Positively Jessica Ward is a break from the outside world, it allows you to switch off and unwind whilst feeling uplifted and full of life. I want to radiate good vibes and colour across the globe. I hope one small step at a time, I can share my burning desire with everyone and make a positive change in the world. It may sound cliché, but this is what I feel like I was born to do.
We all have the power to make a change, it’s up to you, whether you embrace it. I am embracing it.
