Courageous Crumble – The Whey Box and Rolla Granola Crumble Recipe
Happy Saturday everyone! I am back this week with a comfort food recipe, which will transform your pre-workout and post-workout meals into something exciting, nourishing and delicious. I have combined natural ingredients will the added touch of whey protein to add extra flavour, sweetness and of course, protein. In this recipe, I am using a protein sachet from The Whey Box; I have recently reviewed their protein collection which is linked here – There Is Only One Whey To Be – The Whey Box Whey Review and Discount Code!: – I am extremely impressed with their collection and I couldn’t wait to incorporate it into some of my favourite recipes.
Are you a lover of fruit crumble? Need a way to make it healthier? I have it covered! When you adopt a ‘healthy lifestyle’ you do not need to cut out any of your favourite foods. A few simple swaps and you can still enjoy your family favourites without the processed sugars and with extra added nutrients. I have transformed the family favourite ‘fruit crumble’ into something versatile, delicious and nourishing. This most certainly will make you feel cosy, warm and comforted – the three components that are important in winter.
Do you want to become braver? Do you want to step out of your comfort zone? Then this crumble may be the answer. Nourishing our body is the first step to empowerment. Without our health, we potentially have nothing. We can’t enjoy the simple things. Being brave and being strong takes time, but with consistency, a positive mindset and a few key aspects you will be half way there: a healthy balanced diet, daily activity and rest. Every day is a new chance for a new beginning, grab it with both hands and become a stronger person than you were yesterday. Food is fuel for the brain and fuel for your body. Fuel them ambitions with goodness.
In this recipe, I have chosen to use the Vanilla flavoured Whey Box protein sachet which is listed below: this sachet is subtly sweet and adds creaminess to the crumble topping. The vanilla flavouring adds warmth and a new dimension to the oats, dried fruit and chopped nuts. I chose the Vanilla sachet to add a touch of subtle sweetness without overpowering the original flavours used: dried fruit adds additional sweetness and so do the frozen berries. Less is a lot more in this recipe! Being able to taste the natural flavours of the fruit is important in order to feel completely satisfied.
My idea for this crumble came from my love for granola, sweet treats and fruit. I love berries, I love Whey Box protein and I love granola or anything that contains fruit and packs a crunch! I wanted to transform a sugar laden pudding that is a family favourite into something that can be eaten in the morning, as an afternoon snack or as an evening indulgence. I wanted to create a recipe that catered to the sweet tooth but provided additional benefits without leaving anybody feeling sluggish. Let’s make crumble a staple at breakfast time! Your oats have never looked so good!
As an added extra, I added pre-made granola onto of the crumble to add extra warmth, crunch and flavour. The granola I chose was from Rolla Granola – Caveman’s Detox – this granola is a January exclusive, so be sure to grab a bag before it all goes! However, I love ALL of their granola’s and any of them could be incorporated into this recipe as an added touch on top of the protein crumble topping. They’re delicious, nutrient dense and natural. As well as being gluten-free, cereal-free and processed ingredient free! To check out my review on this granola and its ingredient list check out the link here: Review: Caveman’s Detox Rolla Granola – This granola contains spinach! Meaning, your crumble will contain one vegetable as well as all of the other amazing benefits. Honestly, this recipe is delicious!
Ingredients and Method
Experiment with your toppings and sides! I love having this warmed through with a side of Alpro coconut yoghurt or Fage 0% Greek yoghurt – both are delicious and add another dimension to this delicious sweet treat. You could swap the dried fruit (in the crumble topping) for coconut chips, chocolate chips or coconut sugar. This will be a recipe I will continue to create and change. The possibilities are endless!
If you would like to make this serving a lot larger and enjoy it across a few days, be sure to double or triple the mixture and keep it in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat whenever you’re ready. Of course, you could enjoy this crumble with some ice cream! How about, experimenting and making your own? Out of bananas or the leftover berries? Maybe I’ll experiment and pop a recipe up soon!
I HAVE A SURPRISE! Let me give something back to you.
