What Have I Been Eating?
Sometimes do you ever just sit back and wonder what is going to happen from then onwards. Are your dreams ever going to come true? Are you going to progress further towards inner happiness? Will you wake up tomorrow being even happier than you were today? Will something amazing happen next week? Am I doing enough? Should I feel this exhausted, even though I feel like I am doing so little? Should I be selfish? Or should I put other people first? The list goes on and on. Sometimes I feel so alone yet I have so many people around me? Is this normal, I have no idea!
A lot of different obstacles have been thrown my way this week and I have grabbed them with both hands and tried to carry on. Sometimes we all have to understand that taking a break from our usual routine is a good thing and allows us to come back into touch with ourselves and the situations that surround us. Taking a break from our usual eating routine, our usual gym routine, and our usual work routine is a good thing (whichever routine you usually follow.) You do not need to follow it all the time and if things go wrong allow it to happen and relax. It makes things interesting and allows us to have a break and truly appreciate what we have around us.
Sometimes I get so fed up of a routine that it naturally changes itself. Allow changes to happen as amazing outcomes can usually come from this. Change is always good whether at the time we like it or not, eventually there are several positives that surround that change.
My eating habits have changed slightly this month and the changes have most definitely made me feel more energised and refreshed. In fact, it was a little experiment for this month to see if adding more greens (green vegetables) into my diet would help me with energy levels. I can officially say that it has helped me a lot! Adding a little portion of green vegetables wherever I can into my food is essential now. I add a handful of spinach in my juices, I incorporate broccoli into almost every dish I have including sweet potato, quinoa salad, healthy roast dinner, chicken stir fry and so on.. Not only has it helped with my energy it has helped with the clear up of my skin.
Porridge is still a huge staple in my diet purely because I love it so much! And it keeps me full for a long time so it is the perfect way to start the day. I experiment with toppings all the time and love adding lots of fruit, nuts and seeds for extra crunch. All my other blog posts outline my love for porridge too!
Eating out and discovering new food is a great hobby of mine and I love to then re-create them at home too. I love all different types of food and sometimes it is good to have a 80% / 20% rule.. 80% of the time you eat well and go to the gym and that 20% you can indulge and do the things that your body wants and craves. This works extremely well for me! I do not look at food as a reward I much prefer to look at it as nutrients to help me grow, recover muscles and give me energy.
As you can tell from my previous post I had indulged in a lot of cake and sweets, which is a great combination! However, eating healthy again is always something I crave as it makes me feel great. I think we should all truly listen to what our body wants and then we can truly feel happy towards food and love the skin we are in. At the end of the day, we are all different so what works for me, might not work for you but it is all about experimenting and having fun with it!
Here are a few pictures I have taken of the food I have been eating this week, progress pictures and a few new purchases..

I have taken up the task of going for a run twice a week in the morning. It is the perfect way to start the day! Having a shower afterwards is an amazing feeling and it gives me time away from the house to relax funnily enough.
