One of the most important meals of the day is in fact breakfast and this is my favourite meal of the day. However, I do need to experiment with more different variations of breakfast but for now I shall stick to my porridge oats with various different yummy toppings!
I have forever loved fresh pressed juices too as I have previously said in other posts. Fresh pressed juices give me an instant boost of energy at the beginning or the middle of the day. They are packed full of nutrients and vitamins and is an easy way to make sure you are reaching your daily intake. What is your favourite juice ingredients?
Apple, orange, raspberries and grapes! Sweet goodness.
Beetroot, apple, orange, grape and raspberries. Beautiful rich colour and yummy flavouring too!
Beetroot, carrot, apple, grape, strawberry and orange. Super refreshing before the gym!
I love to have them as soon as I wake up before my breakfast. They kick-start my metabolism and my body gets the full benefit of the juice before eating. Half an hour later I will begin prepping my breakfast. Porridge oats have been a huge love of mine for ages and I love experimenting and mixing up the toppings I add to them.
Porridge oats mixture:
- Quaker Oat So Simple – Original plain flavour.
- Fill the sachet up to the line with skimmed milk.
- Microwave for 2 minutes.
- Perfect porridge! Adding more milk throughout may be needed and stirring helps keep the texture creamy. Check every 30 seconds.
My new topping I have discovered for porridge is:
- Milled Linseed – Goji berries, sunflower and pumpkin seeds. I usually add two tsps to my porridge, as it is full of Omega 3 and high in fibre. It also adds a lovely sweet flavouring too!
- Mixed seeds.
- Dried fruit.
- A drizzle of honey.
- Frozen raspberries.
The perfect way to start the day. I usually have a green tea and big glass of water too. If it was acceptable to eat porridge for every single meal of the day… I probably would!
